Moderno

The Moderno shares much of its tonewood selection and construction approach with the Antico model, offering the same attention to lightweight build, resonance, and tonal clarity. But where the Antico draws inspiration from tradition, the Moderno stands apart for its clean, contemporary aesthetic.
It incorporates some Galileo’s features like the sloped soundboard and radial bracing, both of which have proven to contribute positively to the instrument’s acoustic performance.

I source my spruce from the renowned Val di Fiemme valley, famous for providing the same high-quality wood that Stradivari used for his legendary instruments. The unique climate and centuries-old traditions of this region give the wood distinctive tonal properties.
Over time, I’ve come to understand its unique qualities and how to bring out the best in its sound. This exceptional wood helps create instruments with a warm, resonant tone that I continue to refine with each build.

The Moderno model borrows a couple of smart design features from our Galileo model—simply because they work really well.
The special bracing and the angled soundboard are two elements that really proved themselves over time, both in terms of sound and how the instrument responds.
Bringing those features into the new edition of the Moderno felt like a natural step. It’s a refreshed, more contemporary take on the model, but still built on ideas I know deliver great tone and playability.
