Libero

The Libero is a simple ukulele built from lightweight, resonant cypress—a wood long used in Renaissance instrument making for its bright, lively tone. True to its name, the Libero feels free and responsive in the hands, offering a clear, open voice with fast attack and rich overtones.
Cypress gives the Libero its bright, percussive voice—typical of traditional ukuleles—but with a unique twist. There’s a subtle character in its tone, something slightly unexpected, that sets it apart. It’s familiar yet personal, adding a new layer of expression to a classic sound.

Cypress has a long history in instrument making, valued for its light weight, quick response, and clear, percussive tone. Traditionally used in flamenco guitars, cypress provides the sharp attack and vibrant resonance that define the genre’s sound. Its role in Renaissance instrument making—such as lutes and early stringed instruments—speaks to its enduring musical qualities.

The Libero ukulele is finished with hard wax oil, a very smooth and minimal finish that protects the wood while keeping it free to resonate—almost as if it were raw. This type of finish is easy and efficient to apply, which helps keep the Libero more affordable than models like the Antico or Moderno.
While it offers excellent protection against dirt and humidity, it’s not highly resistant to scratches. However, it’s very easy to repair, making it a practical choice for players who value tone, simplicity, and ease of maintenance.
